Lip Care

Recipe with essentials oils

Lip care in the summer

Not only in winter, but also in summer, your lips need adequate care and attention. They should be well protected, especially in the hot season. Sun, salt or chlorinated water, as well as hot and often dry air mean a lot of pressure on sensitive skin in the area. Since the lips do not have sebum jets, they cannot provide enough moisture and a protective layer of fat. With proper lip care, you can protect them from sunburn and prevent them from becoming brittle and cracked.
Lip care

The range of lip care products with a wide variety of properties and ingredients is difficult to understand. With a homemade lip balm or balm, you have the advantage that you can make it from a few, and above all, natural ingredients, tailored to your personal needs. You can use jojoba, almond or coconut oil as the base oil for a nourishing lip balm. Did you know that coconut oil is not only good for hydration, but it is also good for sun protection? It also has the advantage that the vitamin E (antioxidant) it contains acts as a radical cleanser.
Another "basic ingredient" for lip balm is beeswax. Beeswax contains a fatty ingredient that has a protective effect but does not clog the pores and also helps regenerate the skin.

The best way to care for your lips is with a balm that also contains essential oils.

Recipe:

Lip Balm Lavender

2 tablespoons coconut or almond oil
1 tablespoon beeswax
10 drops of lavender oil
Small crucibles
Preparation:
Melt the beeswax first in a baking pan and then add the coconut or almond oil. Mix well until a homogeneous mass is formed. Then add the drop by drop essential oil and mix it. Fill the final balm in small jars or lipstick cases. Let it cool and harden completely!

This recipe produces about 40 g of lip balm.

Lavender oil has a disinfectant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and healing effect. That is why it is especially suitable for irritated, dry and sensitive lips. The intense and discreet aroma of lavender has a calming effect - not only for the skin, but also for our soul.
Lip care with mint

Components:

2 tablespoons almond oil
1 tablespoon beeswax
2 tablespoons shea butter
3 drops of peppermint oil
5 drops of lime or lemon oil

Preparation:
Allow the beeswax to melt slowly in a baking pan. Then slowly add the almond oil and shea butter. Stir until a homogeneous liquid is formed. Take the mass from the hearth and mix the essential oils. If the balm is too wet, you can add a little beeswax. Then fill the balm in small jars or tubes of lipstick. Let it cool and harden completely!
Lime oil and peppermint oil have a refreshing and refreshing effect. Peppermint oil stimulates blood circulation and thus causes red lips.

Tip: We recommend a short lip massage so that the lip balm can penetrate the top layer of the skin faster. Gently massage your lips in a circular motion with a soft toothbrush. Small masses of skin are removed with massage and blood circulation is stimulated.
